Hi friends! We harvested some greens and herbs from our Tower Garden today and I realized that frozen, ready-to-go smoothie bags would be a great way to use our harvest. Who doesn't love smoothies??! :)
You can use fresh or frozen fruit (unsweetened) and then add the greens in with them. I plan to add some frozen greek yogurt cubes as well, just to give it another punch of protein!
Here's what I recommend for the frozen bags:
*2 cups fruit - whatever kind you like! (I recommend 1 cup banana and 1 cup mixed berries)
*1 handful of greens (kale, spinach, lettuce...all yummy!)
*1-2 frozen, yogurt cubes (regular or greek)
When preparing the smoothie:
*1 cup nut milk of your choice (I use almond milk most frequently)
*1 TBSP raw chia seeds
*1 smoothie pack
Blend, blend, blend until it's the desired thickness and texture!
**Adjust nut milk amount for varying thickness
After taking a year long hiatus, I've returned and decided to change the name of this site. A lot can happen in a year AND I wanted the new name to reflect my new vision for the site: all about life! Yes, I'll still talk about all things health and wellness but I want to include topics like mental health issues, chronic pain, family fun, and a few other things.
Stay tuned for great things! See you soon! :)
